Journeyman Systems Engineer

Position Overview

Job Overview: WTI is seeking an Journeyman Systems Engineer to support Air Force intelligence data interoperability initiatives. This role contributes to system design, analysis, and integration activities while working under the guidance of senior engineers and architects. The ideal candidate applies Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) standards to support mission requirements and operational objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and maintenance of UAF‑aligned enterprise and solution architectures focused on Air Force Intelligence and ISR data interoperability.
  • Analyze mission and operational requirements to assist in developing system specifications and architectural models.
  • Participate in systems integration activities to ensure interoperability across platforms and components.
  • Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and modernization plans.
  • Assist with evaluating technical solutions, identifying risks, and recommending performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation such as architecture views, interface descriptions, and diagrams.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in systems engineering, system architecture, or related roles.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise systems, system integration approaches, and architecture methodologies.
  • Familiarity with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within technical teams and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
  • UAF certification with experience applying Unified Architecture Framework principles.
  • Experience supporting Air Force or broader DoD systems engineering initiatives.
